A changed city – Adelaide used to be known as the City of Churches and let’s face it, a place that didn’t have much on offer.
Sure it’s always had beautiful beaches and a laid-back culture but over the past few years things have changed as it is now a sophisticated, cultured and thriving city with laneway bars to rival Melbourne and a full events calendar. That’s right, Adelaide is now is a city full of vibrant cafés, street art and eclectic restaurants.
Adelaide has a thriving festival scene with a constant line up of cultural and music events, sporting events, art exhibitions, theatrical performances and some of the largest festivals in Australia including the Adelaide Fringe Festival, which has over 700 events alone! If you love live music there are plenty of venues with bands and DJs playing every night of the week.
There is no question, Aussies love sport and Adelaideans are no exception. The Adelaide Oval is considered one of the most attractive grounds in the world and is Adelaide’s home of AFL in winter and cricket in summer. It is a must do as well as a wine tour and Adelaide is world renowned in this area with several wine regions including the Barossa. With over 80 cellar doors to do tastings at, it is also home to the biggest names in Australian wine, including Penfolds (Grange), Wolf Blass, and Jacob’s Creek. If beer is more up your alley there are many micro-breweries open for tastings as well. We recommend jumping on a day tour of Adelaide before or after your trip with us!
