Personally, I believe swimming with sea lions in south Australia, as well as dolphins at Baird Bay on the Eyre Peninsula is one of the best wildlife encounters on earth. I first went out with Alan to swim with sea lions and dolphins in 1993 and like him I still can’t resist jumping in the water each time.
Anyone that knows me or has even just met me in passing will know that I call the regions between Adelaide and Perth “my backyard”. That’s 4000km and a bloody big backyard by anyone’s standards.

What an amazing adventure, and these guys are the ones to take you! Our tour guide Sandy was a typical laid back Aussie lass who made my dream adventure happen with her ‘No worries’ attitude. Nothing was a problem. Our bus refused to go any further before we left Perth but it wasn’t a problem we just jumped on Sean’s bus. He was great and looked after us through to Esperance where Sandy collected us with the repaired bus. Every day was filled morning to night with adventures, and sleeping in a swag was an adventure too. The scenery, beaches, wildlife, nature and getting right into the Aussie heartland was an experience I will never forget! Amazing is the best compliment I can give the wonderful Nullarbor Traveller!
I was part of a memorable 9 day tour from Adelaide to Perth over Christmas/New Year 2016. The tour had everything including the option to swim with seals/dolphins, dune surfing, coastal walks, varied wildlife, kangaroos on the beach and swimming at beautiful beaches just to mention a few highlights. Our tour had some long driving days at times, but this is the only way to cover some of Australia’s highlights including the Nullarbor Plain, the Great Australian Bight, the beautiful Esperance coastline and the lush forests of SW WA. Our tour guide Sandy was a great source of knowledge of all facts around what we saw along our tour route and was very supportive in our experience of swag/tent camping in different types of campsites along the way. The variety of food offered on the tour was excellent. Travellers can enjoy the tours with fellow campers from Australia and all across the world, just as those on our tour did. I think the group travel with others from all nationalities and walks of life only added to the experience. I enjoyed every moment and will reflect on this tour for years to come.
