The beach side town of Dunsborough is just two and a half hour’s drive south of Perth. Here, you are right on the door step of the Margaret River region’s wineries and attractions. It is a popular holiday spot for West Australians and international tourists because of its incredible beaches, surrounding national parks, boutique shopping, galleries and studios and friendly locals. It also has arguably the best bakery “down south” where grabbing a sausage roll and sauce to cure the morning hangover is a must. At night there is a great vibe. Locals and visitors head out to enjoy the many brew houses, wine bars and pubs that feature some great local artists playing tunes.
While the coastline just 15 minutes south features some of the best surf breaks on the planet, the beaches of Dunsborough are protected from the Indian Ocean as it sits on Georgraphe Bay. The ocean here is turquoise and generally as flat as a pancake! Meelup Beach and Eagle Bay are our favourite beaches in Dunsborough and when you get there you will see why. Words don’t do them justice.
